Prayer After the Canon of Repentance

O Lord Jesus Christ my God, have mercy on me, a sinner, for great is the multitude of my sins. I am ashamed before Thine impartial Judgment and fear the fire of Gehenna. But trusting in Thy loving-kindness, I fall down and cry: Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great mercy; and according to the multitude of Thy compassions, blot out my transgressions.Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge mine iniquity, and my sin is ever before me. Against Thee only have I sinned and done this evil in Thy sight. A sacrifice unto God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart God will not despise.O merciful and compassionate Lord, long-suffering and plenteous in mercy and true; look upon me and have mercy on me, Thy wretched and unworthy servant; and guide my heart to do Thy will. I pray and beseech Thee: Have mercy on me, O God, not according to my works, but according to Thy mercy. Save me, O Lord, for Thou art my God. Amen.
